Since my home page was established, many people who were willing to share their family data and histories have contacted me. Rather than lose track of this valuable information, I have dedicated this page as a forum to display this information to share with others. Lacking a structured format to organize this data, it will be presented free-form, as contributed with minimal editing on my part. Kiskis is my Maiden name... I do not have very much info on the name
but my father is still living and he may have some answers if you have any questions. His family is from Amsterdam NY and before
that they were from Vilnus Lithuania. My father told me that when he was a child growing up in NY there were
two Kiskis Families there and one was not his. Here is the imediate info I have on my family:

Gary F. HENTSCHEL is 42 years old, and is the son of Winfield Hentschel. Winfield was born in Chicago in 1924 and lived in Chicago until the mid 50's when he moved to West Lafayette, Indiana. Winfield had no brothers, he was the son of Emil who was born and lived in Chicago until his death in 1951. Emil was born in Chicago in 1887. Winfield had one sister, Jeanne, who did not marry. Emil's wife, Mamie Berger, was born in New York. Emil Hentschel repaired musical instruments in Chicago for a living. Winfield's wife, Mary Elizabeth Klein, is 75 years old and living in West Lafayette. Winfield died in 1993. Gary and his wife Pamela Hurst HENTSCHEL have 4 cool kids (ages 14,10,8,and 21 months) and are dominating the Indianapolis sports leagues (just kidding. I am married to a Hentschel who was born in Landeshut Lower Silesia. Her father was a Paul Hentschel born 1 July 1911 in Gottesberg Lower Silesia. His father was also Paul Hentschel and may also have been born in Gottesberg or the next town Landeshut in approx. 1890 (died in about 1960 in Mittweida, Saxony). Paul Sr. also had a brother, Otto, but no one knows what became of him. Paul Sr. married a TAUBE and my wife's mother was formerly a Schoenknecht. We have no record of the parentage of Paul Sr. My wife is one of six children, all brothers, who live in or near Muenster, Westfalia. There is one surviving child of Paul Sr., Erika Richter, living, as far as we know, in Mittweida.

My great great grandfather was Johann Carl Gottlieb Hentschel. He was from Saxony. He had children: Heinrich, Hermann, Ernst, August, Auguste, Ernestina, and Johann Gustav (my great grandfather). Johann Gustav emigrated from Gnaschwitz, near Bautzen in 1882, following his brother Hermann to Lutherville, Arkansas. My grandfather, Ray Hentschel (Ernst Wilhelm Reinhold) moved from Arkansas to Denver in the 1920's. I don't see a connection between our two families, but perhaps someone will e-mail you with information or a query that you think might match up to my Hentschels.

My grandfather was Herman Hentschel of Birmingham Alabama (born in Saxony Germany - 2 June 1857). I know that two of my uncles, Herman and Alvin Hentschel, live in the PA/NY area for years, though I don't know my cousins from their lines.

I'm 41 years old and live in California. I have a brother and a sister. Both parents live in Oregon. We have lived here all of our lives. My father came over here during W.W.II as a kid. My Grandfather stayed in Germany and passed away in the 1980's. We really did not know much about him other than what Grandma would tell us.
