Additional Colocation Requirements
You are responsible for the purchase and configuration of the server machine at Aquila facility. Aquila will provide you with shelf space, power and
an Ethernet port on the Aquila hub. IMPORTANT: You are solely responsible for the maintenance of directories, files and other information on your server.
Support
Aquila will provide your server with the following support:
- The Aquila Tech Support team will reboot your server if you call and request such action.
- Aquila's Tech Support team will backup your server's hard drive if you provide an auxiliary tape drive and use appropriate software. The Tech
Support team also will switch tapes, if necessary, once per week.
Guidelines For Your Server Computer
The machine that you locate at Aquila will need to have greater memory and power than a standard PC. Below are some basic guidelines for
such colocated Web servers:
Sun SPARC: Should run SunOS 4.1.3 at a minimum, Solaris 2.5 is recommended.
Intel-based UNIX workstation: Should run BSDI Unix, version 2.0 or
greater , a minimum of 32MB RAM, a Pentium P-60 or P-90 processor and at least 1GB of hard disk space
Windows NT server: Should have a minimum of 64MB RAM (128MB is
recommended) a P-90 procecer and a minimum of 1GB of hard disk space
Macintosh server: Should have a minimum of 64MB RAM (128MB is
recommended), Power Mac and a minimum of 1GB of hard disk space
